Pink & Green Thursday

It's P&G Thursday and I don't know about y'all but I am SUPER ecstatic about the autumn season and Halloween festivities coming about! The little one is going to be a cowboy this year and I can't wait to see his precious little self in those wrangler jeans and cowboy boots! I am hoping to take him to the pumpkin patch in the next couple of weeks too. I can't wait to see the excitement on his face! What are you plans for Halloween? What are you or your kids dressing up as? What are your memories of Halloween?

Whatever your memories are... I hope this month takes you to a good place like it does me. I love when the leaves start to change, pumpkins start to be placed on front porches, brown boots show their soles, and Mama burns her pumpkin spice candle. Happy fall y'all and happy Pink & Green Thursday :)

WW Wed.

I can't believe I have not blogged since last Friday! I have been super busy lately and have had little time to do anything, much less cook. I have had time to pick up quick meals though and right now I am loving the Subway Club Salad with fat free Italian dressing- it's only 3 points people!!!
sub club salad
That gives you room to top it off with some cheese if you would like! It is really good and I don't know about your local Subway, but mine here by my work has really fresh lettuce and veggies so I find myself craving this crisp salad quite often.

Also, I thought I would share a few things with you. I know in this economy you may not be able to afford to join Weight Watchers but would like to do it so here is a link to determine how many points you get a day--->click here. If you need any help just let me know. Please note that you get those points (the ones calculated for you personally) and then you get 35 extra points per week. These should be saved for emergencies like birthday parties, cookouts, events where it is impossible to calculate your points, etc.
Speaking of calculating.. here is a handy dandy little points calculator ---> click here and save it to your favorites.

If you don't have time to calculate and are on the go, visit here and scroll down to find tons of different restaurant's and food chains that have menu items already calculated. How convenient is that?! For example: You can click on McDonald's and see what a grilled chicken club sandwich will cost you as far as points go. I believe this site accommodates to other diet plans as well, so check it out even if you are not interested in Weight Watchers.
This is a really simple healthy eating plan and I know if I can do it... you can do it! Contact me if you have any questions or need some help with WW. I am happy to help!

Hope everyone has a lovely day and I would like to say Happy Anniversary to my sweet husband! Thanks for putting up with all my shenanigans! I love you baby.

FQF

It's Friday people... need I say more!? Go visit My Little Life and start playing along with Five Question Friday! So much fun!
1. What do you listen to while driving? Hmmm.. my favorite thing is to hear my little boy oohing and ahhing over different things and I could never get tired of hearing "mama" over and over again.
As far as music goes- I have recently been enjoying my Kings of Leon, Switchfoot, and Far East Movement CD's.
I also love to listen to books on CD and classical music. I listened to it the entire time I was pregnant. Made me relax while driving and feel better.
2. What is your least favorite thing about Fall?
My least favorite thing about Fall is how Thanksgiving usually gets skipped over and everyone goes straight to Christmas. I can't explain to you how important that day is to me and how I believe we should all take time to give thanks on that special day.
3. What does your dream house look like, inside and out?
This is a terrible question to ask me because I constantly am coming up with ideas in my head about my dream home. I have always wanted to build a new house to look like an old one. It would be filled with antiques and vintage decor. Cozy for sure. I love a good entrance way (especially the one in the pic) I have had that picture saved for awhile now and hopefully one day I can accomplish that look.

4. Would you ever own a minivan?
Not by choice, but if that's what God provided for my family, I would indeed drive it with a thankful heart :)

5. Do you wash new clothes before wearing them?
Most of the time :)
Have a fabulous weekend! Be blessed.

Pink and Green Thursday

Today is Pink and Green Thursday but it's all about the pink this week!
I am sure you all know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, therefore I am walking in the Strides against Breast Cancer Walk on October 30 and have formed Team TaTa's for anyone who is interested to join and walk with me. You can click here to join the team or make donations. Either is highly appreciated! You can even bring your little ones in strollers to join in on the fun. I am very excited and can't wait to get all my pink gear on and join my friends to walk for such an important cause! Here are some really cute B.C.A. tees that I have come across lately:

This site has apparel for ALL types of cancer awareness!

Hope you will take the time to join in! The walk is in Mobile, AL, starts 8 a.m. at Bienville Square. It's 5 miles. Have a blessed day!

WW Wed.

Today is an exciting Weight Watchers Wednesday for me because I am officially weighing in smaller than I did pre-pregnancy! It's taken me long enough, huh? I read an article awhile back about Melissa Joan Hart getting back in shape and she made the comment that she had to quit using her children as her excuse. It's so easy to say "Well, I just had a baby." I was reminded of this when I was discussing with someone how unhappy I am with my weight and they said, "Well, you just had a baby." LOL- yeah 18 months ago! It feels good to have taken control of myself (mind, body, and spirit) and making necessary changes to be healthier and happier. Let me just say... if you think you can't do this... YOU CAN! I promise! If I can do it, anyone can!
Now... to the yummy stuff!
Baked Apples with Vanilla Drizzle

Ingredients

6 medium apple(s), Golden Delicious-variety
3/4 cup(s) raisins, chopped, or a combination of dried fruit bits*
1 cup(s) apple cider
2 Tbsp maple syrup
2 oz Colombo Low Fat Vanilla Yogurt, or other brand (about 1/4 cup)
2 Tbsp chopped pecans, toasted
Instructions
• Preheat oven to 350°F.
• Cut a thin slice across bottom and top of apples. Use a melon baller or sharp knife and spoon to core apples, making sure not to go all the way through to the bottom. Stuff each apple with 2 tablespoons raisins or dried fruit.
• Place apples in a baking pan. In a small bowl, combine cider and maple syrup; pour around apples. Bake, basting thoroughly with pan juices every 10 minutes, until apples are soft and cooked through, about 55 to 65 minutes total.
Before serving, drizzle apples with pan sauce, yogurt and pecans. Yields 1 apple, 2 teaspoons yogurt and 1 teaspoon pecans per serving.

Servings: 6
WW Points=3
Preparation Time: 10 min
Cooking Time: 65 min
Level of Difficulty: Easy
Recipe and photo by WW online.

Oh yeah, thought I would share my latest favorites on my Ipod for workout music. These really get me going:
1.) "Like A G6" by Far East Movement
2.) "Rock Star 101" by Rihanna
3.) "Heads Will Roll" by yeah yeah yeahs

Keep up the good work!

Pretty Pumpkins

Over the weekend our weather here in lower Alabama shifted to the cooler side and all I wanted to do was be outside! I started getting all crafty too. Seems to happen this time of year, every year. I give you:
PRETTY PUMPKINS
and
FABULOUS PUMPKINS!
Aren't they gorgeous? It took me about 10 minutes to give them a makeover and voila! I just love them.
I got the idea from the sweetest gal, Leslie, over at "A Blonde Ambition". Her blog is absolutely fantastic so if you've never seen it, you should follow her like right now. No, seriously, right now!

Five Question Friday

It's always nice to do FQF's because that means it's actually FRIDAY! YAY!
Link up over at My Little Life and play along!
1. Did you have a pen pal when you were little (or now)? Where were/are they from?
Yes, I did- until I was about 17. Rachel was my best friend when we were kids and she and her family moved away when I was 10. We always kept in touch with letters and I even got to see her on my 16th birthday, but we lost touch soon after that.. that is until Facebook came along! Now we keep in touch time to time via Facebook.

2. If you could do a different job for one day, what would it be?
I have always wanted to be a music video producer- I have so many creative ideas for songs and really hate seeing a bad video made with a great song- always ruins it for me.

3. Do you remember your biggest fear from when you were little?
Yes- it was going to the doctor! I was horrified of having to go see a doctor. I would go days without telling my mom I did not feel well, LOL

4. What do you think is a waste of time? Why?
My Nana has always said that JEALOUSY is a waste of time. Makes sense if you think about it :)

5. What is the oldest item you have in your closet?
Probably my New Balance tennis shoes from 8th grade. YES, I still have them! They are covered in grass stains from mowing the yard and look as old as they really are, but they still fit and I use them to do messy jobs lol

Have a fabulous weekend y'all!
