WW Wed

I went down another 1.5 lb this week so I am somewhat pleased-  I get so discouraged when I don't see BIG numbers, BUT I have to remind myself that I am trying to do this the "healthy" way and that is my whole purpose... to be healthy that is. I did not cook anything new this past week, but I did try something new. My husband and I have been talking about drinks lately. He is not actually doing WW, but he has been checking points on items out of curiosity. He was so shocked to see the points values on Mountain Dew as well as some of the Naked drinks. Here is a list of the 2010 Worst Drinks- you may be surprised. I only drink H2O and occasionally a sweet tea, but I know my sister and some friends struggle with the whole water thing. Try to think of it like this- do you really want to drink all of your points? It's not worth it to me unless it is something that actually fills me up as a meal, such as a Slim Fast for breakfast or something of that nature. So.. I give you the new McDonalds Strawberry-Banana Smoothie! So good and worth having for breakfast!
12 oz. smoothie= 4 points!
Not too bad and it really fills me up!

Whether you are doing WW, South Beach, Adkins, or just trying to eat healthy... keep up the good work! By eating healthier than you used to, you are bound to lose at some point. It has to go somewhere girlies! Have a healthy week!

Real Age

I found the neatest quiz to take- very beneficial. It's called the RealAge Quiz and it asks you a series of health/lifestyle questions and then sends you the results showing your "real age" as well as what you are doing right and what you SHOULD be doing. I am 27 years old but my quiz results say I am 28.4. Boo on that. I need to make some changes. NOW. lol

Favorite Fridays

YAY- it's Friday! I am now joining Jennie over at A Girl in Pearls & A Boy with Toys in her Favorite Fridays post hop! You should join in on the fun!
This Friday's topic is: COCKTAILS
My favorite cocktail is... well, I have two!
Vodka Collins with Grenadine
&
Victoria's Secret
I very rarely drink alchohol anymore, but when I do-
these are my favorites!
Vodka Collins with Grenadine was introduced to me years ago by my sweet South Carolina cousin Brandi! I love her and every time I drink this sweet little concoction I think of her! It taste just like pink lemonade and is super easy to make.

2 oz vodka
sour mix
soda water
splash of grenadine

The Victoria's Secret is just that... a secret!
I found this drink at the Original Oyster House here on Mobile Bay.
So if you live in the area or are traveling through- stop and have you one! They are delicious! I asked the bartender as well as our server what was in it.. and they WOULD NOT budge! However, I do taste chocolate and butterscotch in there. Whatever it is- I love it!
Have a great weekend!

WW Wednesday!

Welcome back for WW Wed! I am dissapointed to say that my weight stayed the same on the scale this week. Nevertheless, I will not be shaken and this coming Monday hopefully I will see some good results. Saturday evening I cooked these delicious subs and saying my family loved them would be an understatement. THEY ARE FABULOUS! You must try! I also wanted to share with you a site I love to visit. If you are on WW or just need some plain ole motivation, visit Roni's Weigh and I promise she will have you pumped up! I go to her page everyday and remind myself that this absolutely can be done!
Here are my yummy meatballs cooking after I started shaking them around
Super Meatball Subs- by WW
Ingredients
1 pound(s) lean ground turkey
1/2 cup(s) seasoned bread crumbs, Italian-flavor
1/4 cup(s) grated Parmesan cheese
1 large egg(s)
1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
2 tsp kosher salt
24 oz canned tomato sauce
20 oz Italian bread, about two 10-inch loaves
1/2 cup(s) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Place oven racks in top 1/3 of oven. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or foil that’s been coated with cooking spray.

In a large bowl, combine turkey, bread crumbs, cheese, egg, Italian seasoning and salt. Using a tablespoon to scoop out turkey mixture, gently shape a tablespoon of mixture into a small meatball and place on a prepared baking sheet; repeat with remaining ingredients to make 32 meatballs. Bake, shaking pans every 5 minutes to promote even browning, about 10 to 15 minutes.
While meatballs are cooking, slice each loaf of bread into four equal pieces.
When meatballs are done, remove from baking sheets. Place bread on same baking sheets; top each piece with 4 meatballs. Spoon about 3 tablespoons sauce over meatballs in each sandwich; top each with 1 tablespoon cheese. Bake until cheese is melted and sandwiches are heated through, about 5 to 7 minutes. Yields 1 sandwich per serving.
Serves 8. 1 serving=7 WW points

Hang in there with me guys! We can do this!

Mama.. please?

My little boy Boogs (click to read post about his name incase you missed it) sole desire this past weekend was to play with these puppies. I would have loved to have let him play with them to his hearts content, but him being 15 months old and and them being 3 weeks old was a little iffy for me. We are trying to teach him to be gentle, but that does not always seem to settle with him :)
Mama... can I puhhlease touch the puppies? No? Okay, I will just hang out and stare at them.
I can share my snacks with them mama?
Okay- nevermind.
But mama... I will even take out the trash for you?!
AND be sweet and take a nap with da-da?!
So.. I finally caved and let the sweet boy hold a couple of the pups!
He just loved them!
and then he tried to step on one... so back to Step 1 we went! LOL

What to wear?

As you all know, I have been attempting to lose weight and want to lose some more in the next couple of months. I have a wedding weekend to attend in August and my brother's wedding in September. I have been thinking about dresses a lot lately and I want to reward myself with something sassy for the wedding! My husband and I get to spend the first weekend EVER away from our baby and I want to look good for my man ;) haha
What do you think about these dresses? Keep in mind that I am short (5'2), I'm a classy kinda gal, and the wedding is at the beach, but it is indoors during the day.

Please see note below...
I love these two dresses and saved the pics from someone else's blog awhile back. Unfortunately, I did not save where I got them from or what brand they are. So girlies, if you know.. please please please let me know! :)
Also.. here is my bridesmaid dress for my brother's wedding. Isn't it cute? (ignore the shoes, I don't care for them).
